About Beyond the Pavement

One family. One journey. A mission built for more freedom.

Beyond the Pavement is a nonprofit organization created to help children and families affected by Duchenne muscular dystrophy experience greater access, freedom, inclusion, and adventure.

Meet the family behind Beyond the Pavement

Jack inspired the mission. Chantelle is helping build the path forward.

Our family’s experience navigating the everyday barriers that can keep a child from fully joining in showed us how much the right mobility support, thoughtful planning, and an inclusive community can change what feels possible.

Jack is a son, a brother, an adventurer, and the inspiration behind Beyond the Pavement. His journey showed our family that access is never only about equipment—it is about being part of the moment.

We are building this organization so families can spend less time fighting barriers and more time making memories.

Meet the founder

Chantelle Lippold

Founder of Beyond the Pavement

Chantelle founded Beyond the Pavement after her family’s experiences with Duchenne muscular dystrophy showed how important access, inclusion, adventure, and shared family experiences are to childhood.

Our mission commitments

Guided by dignity, inclusion, and trust.

01

Respect Every Family

We share each family’s story with care, consent, and respect—always protecting the dignity of the children and families at the heart of our mission.

02

Create Real Inclusion

Access should open the door to family outings, school, travel, recreation, celebrations, and community life—so every child can participate and belong.

03

Build Trust Responsibly

We communicate clearly about our progress, decisions, resources, and impact, and we use every contribution responsibly as the mission grows.

The mission

More access. More participation. More freedom.

Every program and partnership should answer one question: how does this help make more of the world reachable for a child living with Duchenne?
